Aliens

WE ARE NOT ALONE

Once you have mastered the rudimentary skills of movement and exploration, you will soon discover the presence of many alien civilisations within the borders of the sector. These races have their own personality and morals, with time you may become close friends or deadly rivals with a number of these creatures:

Humans:
There are a number of scattered human colonies placed by the old Imperial Empire. After the Empires collapse many centuries ago, these people were left to fend for themselves and have been isolated from the main stream of human history for a long time.

Condrat:
The Condrat are a race derived from avian stock, they have long since lost the power of flight and have developed into large upright bipedal creatures with incredibly dextrous limbs. The Condrat have two loves - trading and piloting, since they excel at both, no Condrat merchant can be considered unarmed or undefended. These peaceful creatures avoid conflict whenever possible, but they can be drawn into a defensive battle.

Dendrils:
Dendrils are a strange sight to Humans - they are huge mobile plants with tough bodies capable of withstanding tremendous amounts of damage. Peace and farming are a way of life for the Denril race, so much so that they can bring green abundance to even the most harsh desert planet and very few have ever been seen fighting no matter what the provocation.

Florians:
The best description of a Florian would be an 8 feet tall bipedal rat. The similarities don't end at the physical either, Florians will use any advantage they can in a business transaction including trickery, subterfuge and bullying. As a consequence of this attitude, they have acquired a number of enemies and as such the military arm of the Florian culture is one of the largest and best trained in the sector.

Morlocks:
The Morlocks have a very similar genetic past to Humans, they obviously come from simian stock and resemble humans very closely. The only obvious difference between the two species are the eight-fingered hands of the Morlocks. Another, less obvious, difference is the almost universal technical skill of the Morlocks.

Crimon:
The Crimon are a very different life form from the sector norm. They are viral in nature and their race includes a number of different sub-races that are basically viable mutations from the original stock. Little is known of the Crimon other than that they are very intelligent and infection by them results in the lifetime of the infected creature extending beyond race norms.

Ponderax:
The Ponderax are a bear like people spread evenly throughout the entire galaxy. They have a reputation as friendly giants due to their size and happy go lucky nature. Predominantly merchants by choice they will trade all manner of goods across vast areas of space and can be counted on to be found in almost any trade station. Woe betide anyone who insults a Ponderax for once roused they exhibit incredible speed and power in combat.

Lixydrax:
Lixydrax differ from most races in the sector in that they are silicon based as oppose to carbon based. Due to their lack of communication with none Lixydrax, very little is known of them.

These are only a few of the races you may encounter, many more could exist on the fringes of the galaxy. Rumours continue to circulate of the Varn, A6, Romech and Rylix Relic but no firm information is available on these cultures.
